With the unavailability of our expected transport Leyland Titan 225 to take us to Wirksworth, Shayne Howarth promised us a surprise. This turned out to be
Ladyline Scania J272 UWO. The way it shot up Slack Hill was amazing! After a wet day we enjoyed a dry and highly enjoyable evening. Our
thanks go to Peter Sellers and his team for going out of their way to make us welcome and getting us fully involved.

Images 21 & 22 below are similar vehicles to our 'chariot' to Steeple Grange.
There appears to have been a batch of fourteen such buses (Scania /
Plaxton Verde B51F) supplied in February 1992 to Cardiff City
Transport. Some or maybe all were later acquired by the Roadcar
company, repainted and placed into service in Lincs and Notts. I think
the nearest that they would have ventured towards Chesterfield would
have been Retford, where of course as we know, there was once a
subsidiary of Chesterfield Transport.
