by Neville Whitmore

Photographs by Neville Whitmore. Added to website 9 April 2010

Neville has been having a spring clean. This is what he came across:

F716 TVC

1. Chesterfield Community Transport F716 TVC, a tri-axle Talbot Pullman (or Freeway) in an attractive two tone green livery. Photograph c1993.

FDV 786V

2. Between Christmas 1993 and New Year 1994, Peakbus operated service 141 between Clay Cross and Mansfield. FDV 786V, a Bristol LHS6L with ECW body, photographed in Mansfield Bus Station.

FDV 786V

3. The same in Clay Cross.

FDV 786V

4. The same bus near North Wingfield Church.

C812 CBU

5. Also used on the service was C812 CBU, a Dodge S56 with Northern Counties body - also photographed in Clay Cross.

BWA 260M

6. Photographed in Clay Cross also was BWA 260M, an AEC Reliance with a Plaxton coach body. This was new to Booth & Fisher of Halfway (who worked out of the present TM Travel depot), but was now fleet number 1008 in the South Yorkshire PTE fleet. It is working service 200 to Sheffield (operated jointly with Chesterfield Transport). Photograph c1990.

R & D Leyland Panther

7. Chesterfield Transport Leyland Panther with Northern Counties body - photographed in the Retford & District fleet (fleet no. 20?) in Retford bus station working on service 96 to Gainsborough. Photograph c1993.

CT 193

8. The Panther later returned to the main Chesterfield fleet (now numbered 193) and was photographed picking up passengers in Hepthorne Lane on the short lived 52 service (Chesterfield - Clay Cross) introduced due to competition on the route from Sheffield Omnibus (who only ran the service for two days before "Chesterfield Omnibus" took over running on hire). Photograph c1993.

J366 BNW

9. Remember this one? An Optare MetroRider J366 BNW, presumably a demonstrator, operating for Aston Express. Photograph c1994.
