TRANSPIRE SLIDESHOW 30:
More on Stagecoach Brookes Tridents

Photographs by David Gambles

David writes:
I was interested to see Colin's picture of the ex Brookes Bus Trident in Chesterfield (SLIDESHOW 27.) These buses used to spend the summer in service in the Torquay area, an arrangement made possible by the fact that the universities were closed for the summer holidays allowing the buses to transfer from Oxford to the south coast to assist in moving crowds during the peak of the holiday season.

This year Stagecoach lost the Brookes Bus contract to the Oxford Bus Company and the Tridents still transferred south for the peak season, some of them having lost their vynils and looking somewhat shabby in appearance, so it is interesting to hear of where one has ended up. Does anyone know if more are expected to join the Worksop fleet?

Pictures of 18051/4/6 below taken during August of this year whilst on the well used service 32T between Teignmouth and Torquay.
