New rear for 33
Colin Sellers writes (16 July 2010):
Got the TM Travel new back end of the liveried 33's. It advertises the Trentbarton Red Arrow. The 'every 30 mins' in fact does not start until
26 July, over a week away. The fact that Nottingham is not mentioned for shopping implies that the afternoon restriction on the use of Zigzags
is continuing.

Transpeak Shuttle Service
Andrew Bagshaw writes (15 July 2010):
For two weeks commencing 12th July G & J Holmes are providing a shuttle bus between Cromford and Bakewell due to the closure of the A6 road at
Whitworth Institute near Darley Dale. Normal Transpeak vehicles are being diverted via the Via Gellia road then taking the Bakewell Road via Elton
Four Lane Ends to rejoin the A6 at Pickory Corner near Haddon Hall and vica versa. G & J Holmes shuttle bus is observing all Transpeak stops except
Hooleys Estate, Whitworth Hospital & DFS Furniture Store and is running via Oaker & Snitterton which hasn't seen a public service route pass through
since 1991 when the lunchtime 172 Matlock - Bakewell operated this way rather than the more usual Darley Bridge route as is the norm today. Pictured
is Optare Solo MX57 UPO at Oaker then again meeting up with the Transpeak at Bakewell. It is also a long time since G & J Holmes ran an evening
service with the service running ex Cromford at 18.30 20.25 & 22.25 finishing at Bakewell at 19.10 & 21.00. Running light back to Clay Cross
to finish at 23.50

Continental visitor to Chesterfield
Ian Moorcroft writes: (11 July 2010):
Spotted this German coach knocking about all week and caught up with it yesterday morning in Barlow.
Dan Sellers replies (14 July 2010):
The German coach Ian Moorcroft photographed at Barlow is a Temsa
Safari HD. This model is sold in the UK through Arriva Bus & Coach;
it's built in Turkey.

Preserved buses at work: Saturday 10 July 2010
Colin sellers writes (10 July 2010):
The first two pictures show the Staveley Armed Forces Day where the two preserved ex-Chesterfield Transport Leyland Lynx did the
Park & Ride. Here is 64 leaving Poolsbrook Country Park.
Chesterfield 123 Group's freshly re-engined Fleetline number 124 ran the shuttle between Chesterfield, Walton & Inkerman (Ashgate)
for, in the words of the organisers,
'the second Inkerman Buzz, an event celebrating sustainability, the environment and well being.'
Below are pictures of the vehicle at the Town Hall Chesterfield, Ashgate & Walton shops where it is passed by a Solo on route 80.
The reconditioned engine was originally from an ex Nottingham Leyland Atlantean.
Shayne Howarth writes (17 July 2010):
I have added two shots of 124, outside the Town Hall and at Ashgate with the Mayor and Mayoress.

Vecta moves to a farm
Andrew Bagshaw writes (7 July 2010):
This Optare Vecta bodied MAN M804 PRA new to Trent has been acquired by a private owner from Central Travel of Sheffield. It is now located on
farm premises at Sutton Springs wood near Calow Green, Chesterfield and has been received in dealership white. It's future here is not known but
it is likely that it will simply become a useful storage facility maybe for the present company!
John Young (8 July 2010) has questioned the number plate in the image below. It certainly looks like K804 PRA but in
fact when looked at more closely (right) it is M804 PRA but with a white bolt in an unfortunate spot.
Colin Sellers responds (9 July 2010)
Dealer white?? When this vehicle was photographed on service in 2008 the "livery" was not much more than dealer white.

Carnival Volcano
Andrew Bagshaw writes (3 July 2010):
Looks as though Bakewell & Eyam Community Transport has erupted ( pardon the pun! ) into advertising with this entry in the Bakewell
Carnival 2010 parade seen today Saturday 3rd July and relating to the recent volcanic activity that affected the UK.
